These short essays intend to portray an author’s idea in a compact and meaningful format. If the articles (view guidelines here) should be conversational, these pieces should be ultra-conversational. Make your point, muse, challenge, but do so with vigor, conviction, and creative style. You should aim to present a piece that blends thought and art; that combines narrative and argument. Authors should avoid jargon and, while citations are welcome, these pieces are not meant to have lengthy bibliographies.

• 12 pt. Times New Roman font.
• Double spaced .doc or .docx file.
• 250-2000 words (~1000 is ideal).
• Pages numbered.
• References in Chicago: Author Date format.
• Pieces can include one or more images submitted as .jpg, .png, or .tif files. Images should either be the author’s property or in the public domain.
• High-quality (300 DPI) images are preferred for publication (contact editors about possible exceptions).
• Additional multi-media content is encouraged (videos, songs, etc. that add to the article).
