This lecture will be held in the Regnier Forum on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at 2:00 pm. John Scott is a Political Science professor at the University of California, Davis. Dr. Scott’s research focuses on Jean-Jacques Rousseau, his published works include Rousseau’s God: Theology, Religion, and the Natural Goodness of Man, Rousseau’s Reader: Strategies of Persuasion and Education, The Philosophers’ Quarrel: Rousseau, Hume, and the Limits of Human Understanding and The Routledge Guide to Machiavelli’s “The Prince”.
